Our Donors Are Patriots Intent On Defending Freedom
We would like to thank Dan Eggen of the Washington Post for pointing out the Institute for Liberty’s swift rise and significant impact in the free market public policy debate in his January 7th article, “How interest groups behind health-care legislation are financed is often unclear.”
However, unlike Mr. Eggen, our financing is very clear to us.
Our funding comes from donors who understand the true nature and goals of the Congressional healthcare bills. They do not want a government takeover of their medical care and do not support the incalculable debt the plan incurs, the mandates to purchase insurance that could break small businesses or impose fines and jail time, the taxpayer funded bribes attached to votes, or to be dumped into a government healthcare system that will bring rationing and long waits like every other government run healthcare system in the world. Unlike Congress, our donors know the facts and understand the painful ramification of these bills.
We represent the wishes of the people of the United States who overwhelmingly oppose these healthcare plans. We are ensuring that their voices are heard.
If any of Mr. Eggen’s readers share IFL’s concerns that healthcare legislation currently before Congress poses a serious threat to our rights and liberties, we invite them to visit our website and join our team of dedicated and patriotic contributors.
Kerri Toloczko, Senior Vice President for the Institute for Liberty and Director of its Center for Healthcare Security and Access.
